Landed Cost Calculator
Calculate the total cost per piece from the factory floor to your door. The factory unit price is just the starting point — these additional costs can add 30-80% to your per-piece cost.
1. Factory Unit Price
The price per piece quoted by the factory. This should include the metal cost, labor, factory overhead, and factory profit margin.

2. Mold and Tooling Fee
One-time cost for creating molds, dies, or CNC programming. Amortize this across your total order quantity to get the per-piece cost.

3. International Freight
Air express (DHL/FedEx/UPS), air freight, or sea freight. Express is fastest (3-7 days) but most expensive. Sea freight is cheapest but takes 3-6 weeks. Divide total freight cost by number of pieces.

4. Insurance
Marine cargo insurance, typically 0.3-0.5% of the CIF (Cost + Insurance + Freight) value. Protects against loss or damage during transit. Required if shipping by sea.

5. Import Duty
Calculated as a percentage of CIF value. Jewelry duties typically range from 5-8% depending on the HS code and destination country. Silver jewelry (7113.11) and gold jewelry (7113.19) have different rates.

6. Customs Brokerage
Fee paid to a licensed customs broker to clear goods through customs. Typically a flat fee per shipment plus a per-item or percentage charge. Divide by total pieces.

7. Third-Party Inspection
Optional but recommended for orders over $5,000. SGS, Intertek, or Bureau Veritas inspection typically costs $300-500 per day plus travel expenses. Divide by total pieces if applicable.

8. Payment Processing
Wire transfer fees, letter of credit charges, or platform commission (Alibaba Trade Assurance: 3-5%). Credit card processing for B2B transactions: 2-4%. Factor this into your per-piece cost.

Example Calculation
Silver ring order: 500 pieces, $8 factory price, 15kg total weight.
- Factory price: $8.00/pc
- Mold fee: $200 ÷ 500 = $0.40/pc
- Express freight: $150 ÷ 500 = $0.30/pc
- Insurance: $8.50 (cost so far) × 0.5% = $0.04/pc
- Import duty (5%): $8.74 × 5% = $0.44/pc
- Brokerage: $75 ÷ 500 = $0.15/pc
- Inspection: not used for this order
- Wire transfer fee: $25 ÷ 500 = $0.05/pc
- Total landed cost: $9.38/pc — nearly 18% above the $8 factory price
